The Monumental Complex of Santa Chiara with the famous cloister,
Piazza del Gesu and Piazza San Domenico Maggiore where you can enjoy a sweet break and try delicious babà and sfogliatelle; the Duomo where the 19th of September and the first Sunday of May the blood of San Gennaro, patron of the city, liquifies; the Church of San Domenico Maggiore where the remains of the first Kings of Aragonese Napoli remain; Via San Gregorio Armeno with the nativity scene workshops; the Monumental Complex of San Lorenzo Maggiore from where you access to the underground excavations that date to the Greek -Roman period of the so called Napoli SOTTERRANEA, Spaccanapoli and the small and precious San Severo Chapel with the Veiled Christ by Sammartino, the “Quadreria del Pio Monte di Misericordia” where the 17th century Caravaggio painting “ The Seven Works of Mercy” is displayed. The State archives, the university Federico II and many other historical attractions.
Piazza Plebiscito with the San Carlo Theatre, the Maschio Angioino castle and the “Borgo Marinari” with another castle, Castel dell’Ovo are a 20 minute walk from our B&B.
In less than an hour you can reach: Sorrento, Capri, Ischia, Procida (35/40 minutes with the hydrofoil), Amalfi and Positano (75 minutes by bus), Pompei and Herculaneum (in 20/30 minutes the train will drop you off right in front of the ruins), the Reggia di Caserta, with its wonderful gardens, the Campi Flegrei, where you can visit the city of Baia submerged by the sea due to the bradyseism phenomena, the Serapide Temple (Tempio di Serapide), the Solfatara Volcano, still active, the Piscina Mirabilis, the cave of the Sibilla Cumana.
